Vandals Tear Down Pride Flags On Multiple Nights From Shakespeare Bridge

UPDATE: After several nights of having the Pride decorations vandalized FHRA reached out the media and KTLA visited Los Feliz to report on the the rash of anti-LGBTQ activity on the bridge and in the Los Angeles area. A neighbor was able to get video of a black SUV that may have been involved. The LAPD has been informed and hopefully this will aid in catching the culprits and curtailing this destructive and hateful behavior. Link to KTLA KCAL

We've always been proud that Franklin Hills is such a caring, considerate and inclusive community. We show this by decorating the Shakespeare Bridge through out the year.

Sadly, our efforts to communicate that publicly -- by decorating the Shakespeare Bridge with flags celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month and Juneteenth -- were blocked by vandals who began to remove the flags just hours after we hung them.

Fortunately, an alert neighbor stopped them from tearing down all the flags at that time. But the remaining flags were stolen Monday night.

On the positive side, neighbors have offered to purchase new flags and help to re-hang them.

Please be alert to any destructive activity on the Bridge and, if you see anything, contact us at fhra@franklinhills.org.

Let's not let haters win!
